This original 1972 Audemars Piguet advertisement features the Royal Oak in its first year on the market. The Royal Oak was the first stainless steel watch marketed as a luxury piece, and was even more expensive than some gold Patek Philippes at the time. It was designed by the famous Gerald Genta and remains an icon in the watch market to this day.
